ABOUT
The Black Student Union (BSU) is a student organization designed to provide leadership for Black students that are part of the James Denman community.
The Black Student Union is committed to intellectual, cultural, social and ethnic diversity. The BSU's focus is to build awareness and education.

HOW BSU IS ORGANIZED
BSU is run by committee.
Students will run and organize all meetings, field trips and activities.
You will implement the idea from start to finish with support and resources from the community.
If you have an idea about and activity or project, you are in charge!

BSU Staff and Community Organizing Committee

Due to every one'e busy work day, the Staff and Community Organizing Committee will meet once a month either before or after school. This will allow members of the community to attend our meetings as well. Meetings will be in person and virtual.
Day and time TBD. Additional times and dates may be added as needed.

The purpose of these meetings is for staff and community to volunteer to organize an activity or project with students OR provide resources and support for ongoing projects.

NOTE: If you want to organize a special project or activity with BSU student, please set up times to meet OUTSIDE of the student organizing committee meeting times on Fridays. The Friday meeting time is for planning regular BSU meetings and activities and organizational maintenance.
